It all started when...
in 1997, with my first paycheck, I booked a flight to Cuba. The trip in minivan, out of the airport, was the first time I saw with my own eyes kids, mums and dads living in shanty towns with no running water. Since then, I have done my best to make a difference, working for organizations such as the UN Headquarter, UNESCO, UNDP, the French Development Agency (AFD) or Australia's Department in charge of Foreign Aid (DFAT).
How I do my part
I design and deliver strategies, project design, field research, evaluations and impact assessments in a range of sectors - such as biodiversity protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation, transmissible diseases, health and education for the poor and social assistance. I also have advanced expertise in community participatory approaches. I have worked extensively across Asia, Latin America and Africa.
People matter
In my early years, I worked for the AFD Chief Economist, Pierre Jacquet, a development thought leader who went on to lead the Global Development Network (gdn.int). I then became a close advisor to the CEO, Jean-Michel Severino, who transformed the AFD for the better. I later moved to the Research and Evaluation Department, under the direction of Robert Peccoud and Veronique Sauvat as research director, where I led an international research programme involving five countries and a massive amount of field work. This led to the publication of a book, Local Politics, Global Impacts (Routledge, 2015). I went on to found ImpactDev.
Entrepreneur for Social Impacts
Consultancy on sustainable development is a form of social entrepreneurship, as it is a way to sustainably give back to society. Yet, as a social entrepreneur myself, I have gained experience in the technology space. I co-founded Go-Up (go-up.work) to help people enjoy better work conditions in South East Asia (Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia), serving clients such as Decathlon, Krungthai-Axa, Ngee Ann Polytechnic or the Loxley Group. These endeavors all aim at generating positive sustainability impacts.
